INTEGRA (KA122-ADU): Building international, digital and green capacity in adult education

IKReON is launching INTEGRA – our new Erasmus+ KA122-ADU mobility project (Project number: 2024-1-SK01-KA122-ADU-000223830). INTEGRA is designed to strengthen three core capacities in our adult education work: internationalisation & multilingualism, digital education (including AI), and environmental sustainability. Through focused staff training and job shadowing in partner organisations across Europe, our team will learn directly from practice – and bring that knowledge back to Ružomberok.
INTEGRA at a glance
Who we are. IKReON is a non-profit organisation based in Ružomberok, Slovakia. We work with adult learners, educators and local communities to build creative, digital and green competences. With INTEGRA, we want our trainers to operate confidently in multilingual settings, to use modern digital and AI-supported methods, and to embed sustainability as a daily teaching habit – not a slogan.
Why we’re doing this. Our internal needs analysis identified three urgent priorities:
1. Internationalisation & multilingualism – working confidently with learners and partners from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
2. Digital education & AI – designing collaborative, feedback-rich learning using digital tools and AI in a safe, GDPR-aware way.
3. Sustainability – making environmental responsibility real in everyday practice: low-waste routines, conscious use of resources, and critical thinking about “green” claims.
What we aim for
We want to:
- strengthen the multilingual and intercultural confidence of our educators;
- modernise our digital and AI-supported practice in a responsible way;
- embed sustainability visibly in every programme we run;
- build long-term cooperation with adult learning centres, NGOs, municipalities, SMEs and innovation actors in Slovakia and across Europe.
Digital education · Tenerife (Spain)
4 participants will join the structured training course about ICT Tools in Tenerife. Focus areas include:
• engaging digital pedagogy for adults,
• AI-supported lesson planning and assessment,
• safe digital behaviour and GDPR,
• feedback methods that keep learners active, not passive.
Sustainability in adult education · Ghent (Belgium)
4 participants will attend a training course on sustainable classrooms in Ghent. The course targets:
• zero-waste routines and responsible material use in education,
• critical reading of “green”/eco claims (greenwashing literacy),
• microplastics and environmental health as learning topics,
• how to turn sustainability into everyday behaviour, not theory.
Job shadowing · Greece
4 participants will be placed in a partner organisation abroad for a job shadowing experience hosted by T-Hap.
They will:
• observe real adult education delivery and learner support,
• study programme management and cooperation with local actors,
• explore how international partnerships are built and maintained,
• collect methods they can transfer directly into IKReON’s daily work.
How we make sure it matters at home
Clear learning goals
Before each mobility, every participant signs a Learning Agreement. It specifies: what they are expected to learn, how they will show evidence (for example: a sustainability action plan, a digital/AI-supported lesson design), and how it will be recognised (Certificate of Attendance + Europass Mobility).
This is fully aligned with Erasmus+ quality standards and our approved INTEGRA proposal.
Care & mentoring
Each participant has a dedicated mentor in the host organisation, daily check-ins, and 24/7 emergency contacts. Inclusion is a priority: there are no participation fees, and if needed we can advance individual support so that nobody is blocked by travel or subsistence costs.
Bringing it back
When they return, participants will run short peer-to-peer sessions for colleagues. We will integrate new practice into our curriculum – for example AI literacy, responsible digital behaviour, multilingual facilitation, zero-waste routines – and share the experience locally with partners and stakeholders. The goal is not “a nice trip”, it’s lasting change in IKReON.
