THINK DIGITAL – Project Overview (KA152-YOU)

Project Summary

THINK DIGITALEnhancing Critical Thinking Skills in the Digital Age (2025-1-SK02-KA152-YOU-000299515) – helps young people navigate an online world shaped by misinformation, media bias and algorithms. Through non-formal learning that blends digital literacy, media awareness and ethical online engagement, participants learn to question sources, spot manipulation and act as responsible digital citizens, with recognition through Youthpass. The exchange is hosted in Ružomberok, Slovakia with interactive workshops, a fact-checking challenge and a public awareness campaign.

Title: THINK DIGITAL

Participants: 38

Countries: SK • IT • ES • CZ • PL • AM

Location: Ružomberok, Slovakia

Key objectives

Analyse Online Information

Build the ability to critically assess digital content, spot bias and question sources, so participants can tell credible information from misinformation.

Master Fact-Checking Tools

Give participants practical tools and techniques to verify sources, images and videos, and to evaluate media credibility with confidence.

Share a Practical Guide

Co-create and publish an open guide with critical thinking strategies for digital life, so the learning reaches youth workers and educators far beyond the exchange.

The partnership

IKReON

Slovak Coordinator — IKReON

IKReON coordinates THINK DIGITAL from Ružomberok, bringing strong experience in non-formal education for digital and media literacy. The team leads facilitation onsite, steers quality and safeguarding, and manages logistics (accommodation at Penzión Sidorovo, travel and visa support for the Armenian team). IKReON also anchors the daily reflection and Youthpass routine and guides the final awareness campaign.

IT — Pro.M.E.T.EU.S.

A youth-led cultural association from Viterbo, Italy, Pro.M.E.T.EU.S. works on active democratic participation, human rights and environmental sustainability. Their facilitators bring international exchange experience and support the sessions on media bias and responsible online engagement.

AM — FYCA

The Federation of Youth Clubs of Armenia (FYCA) is Armenia’s largest youth organisation, uniting more than 100 youth clubs and initiatives since 1999. FYCA champions open youth work and active participation, and brings a valuable non-EU perspective to the exchange, strengthening intercultural dialogue and inclusion.

CZ — Wild Geese

Wild Geese z.s. is a Czech organisation built on the belief that education breaks down barriers and fosters inclusion. Focusing on non-formal, practical learning, they support the integration of people facing barriers and bring hands-on methods that keep the exchange inclusive and confidence-building.

Colectivo Circo Zaragoza logo

ES — Colectivo Circo Zaragoza

Colectivo Circo Zaragoza (Colectivo 21) empowers young people through artistic expression and inclusive opportunities, with a focus on youth from rural areas. They bring creative, community-based methods that make the exchange welcoming and help participants turn ideas into engaging awareness campaigns.

PL — Fundacja I2

I2 Foundation is a regionally based Polish NGO working in education, training and volunteering, with a strong focus on supporting small and rural organisations. In THINK DIGITAL, the Polish team leads two of the exchange activities and helps engage participants with fewer opportunities.

Activities overview

Team-building through “Two Truths and One Lie: Digital Edition” and the Digital Footprint Challenge. Participants set expectations and are introduced to the project goals and the Youthpass certificate.
Through the “Real or Fake?” workshop and fact-checking basics, participants analyse real cases of misinformation and learn to detect political and commercial bias in their news feeds.
Sessions on algorithmic influence and algorithmic vs. human curation reveal how content is shaped online. A workshop on targeted ads and data privacy explores how personal data is collected and used.
Constructive online debates build skills in logic and civil discussion. Role-plays address ethical dilemmas in digital spaces, preventing cyberbullying and hate speech, and communicating respectfully.
Hands-on training with essential fact-checking tools and techniques for verifying images, videos and metadata. Learning is reinforced through a peer fact-check session and a gamified fact-check challenge.
Teams design awareness campaigns, setting goals and practising effective online storytelling and engagement. They finalise campaign content and run a rehearsal and feedback session ahead of the public showcase.
The THINK DIGITAL Final Event presents the campaigns to the local community and stakeholders. The day closes with Youthpass finalisation, participation certificates and a “Plus and Delta” evaluation session.

Project outputs

A key output is the open guide “THINK DIGITAL — Guidelines to Critical Thinking in the Digital World”, compiling methods, activities and practical tips for responsible online engagement, so the approach can be reused by youth workers and educators (to be shared via SALTO-YOUTH and the Erasmus+ Project Results Platform).
