THINK DIGITAL Results: A Free Toolkit for Critical Thinking in the Digital World

IKReON is proud to release the result of our THINK DIGITAL project: the “THINK DIGITAL Toolkit”.

After seven days of workshops, fact-checking practice and campaign design with 31 young people and 6 group leaders from six countries, IKReON is excited to share the practical output of the THINK DIGITAL Youth Exchange. THINK DIGITAL – Guidelines to Critical Thinking in the Digital World is not a report of what happened — it is a practical guide with the methods, strategies and tips tested in Ružomberok, ready for youth workers, educators and young people to use.

Participants: 31 young people + 6 leaders

Countries: SK • IT • ES • CZ • PL • AM

Location: Ružomberok, Slovakia

Key Output: Toolkit + Youthpass

What Participants Achieved

  • Spotting Misinformation: Participants learned to recognise deepfakes, clickbait and media bias, analysed real misinformation cases and audited their own news feeds for hidden agendas.
  • Decoding Algorithms: They explored how recommendation systems and targeted ads shape what we see online, and how personal data is collected and used.
  • Fact-Checking in Practice: They tested fact-checking platforms, reverse image searches and metadata checks, and guided each other through peer fact-checks.
  • Responsible Online Engagement: Through debates, role-plays and ethical dilemmas, they practised constructive discussion and designed ways to prevent cyberbullying and hate speech.

Showcase & Recognition

The Youth Exchange closed with a public Final Event for the local community. Teams presented their own critical-thinking campaigns — short videos, infographics and social media posts. At the closing ceremony, participants received their Youthpass certificates.

We are releasing the “THINK DIGITAL Toolkit”, a free guide that brings together the project’s key learning materials, best practices and practical tips for responsible online engagement. Youth workers, educators and young people can use it to build critical thinking and media literacy in their own groups.

The toolkit will also be shared via the Erasmus+ Project Results and SALTO-YOUTH platforms.
