Position summary
IKREON is seeking a motivated and dynamic Junior Project Manager to join our growing team. This is an entry-level position designed for a recent graduate or an individual with foundational experience who is passionate about education, social innovation, and European cooperation. The successful candidate will support the management of our diverse portfolio of EU-funded projects, while being trained in all aspects of the project lifecycle. This dual role combines project administration with hands-on delivery of educational activities, offering a unique opportunity to develop a comprehensive skill set in the non-profit sector. You will be a key player in helping us manage our growth and achieve our mission of empowering youth and adults in Ružomberok and beyond.
Key responsibilities
The Junior Project Manager will be gradually introduced to the following tasks under the guidance of senior staff:
1. Project Management & Administration:
- Support Project Coordination: Assist in the day-to-day management of ongoing projects within our portfolio.
- Monitoring & Reporting: Track project timelines, deliverables, and partner contributions to ensure milestones are met. Assist in the preparation of narrative reports for funding agencies.
- Communication: Serve as a supportive point of contact for international project partners, facilitating clear and timely communication.
- Event & Meeting Logistics: Assist in organising local workshops, transnational project meetings, and online calls, including preparing agendas, taking minutes, and managing logistics.
- Documentation: Maintain organised project documentation in line with funders’ requirements.
2. Training & Facilitation:
- Content Co-Development: Collaborate with the team to design engaging non-formal and formal learning materials, workshops, and training modules for both youth and adult learners.
- Workshop Delivery: Co-facilitate or independently lead training sessions on topics aligned with our core pillars (e.g., digital literacy, entrepreneurship, creativity, active citizenship).
- Learner Engagement: Apply learner-centred methodologies such as project-based learning and gamification to create inclusive and effective learning environments.
3. Project Development & Proposal Writing:
- Research: Assist in identifying new funding opportunities (e.g., from EU programmes, foundations, and other donors) and researching best – practices relevant to IKREON’s thematic areas.
- Proposal Contribution: Be actively involved in brainstorming sessions for new project ideas.
- Writing Support: Under supervision, contribute to writing new grant proposals, learning the fundamentals of project design and application writing.
Candidate Profile: Qualifications & Skills
Essential (Must-Have)
Qualifications:
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Political Science, European Studies, International Relations, Pedagogy, Education Sciences, Management, or a related social science discipline.
Languages:
- Full professional proficiency in Slovak (written and spoken).
- Excellent command of English (minimum B2, C1 preferred).
Core Competencies:
- Exceptional organizational skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Strong time-management abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple tasks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A proactive, reliable, goal-oriented, resourceful, resilient and solution-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn.
- Proficient in using standard digital tools (MS Office, Google Workspace, etc.) and has the capacity to use AI tools and resources.
Desirable (Nice-to-Have) Attributes:
- Previous experience with EU programmes (e.g., Erasmus+, European Solidarity Corps) or related mobility/international projects, including as a participant.
- Previous experience (volunteering or internships) in an NGO or project-based environment.
- Experience with public speaking, teaching, or facilitating groups.
- Personal alignment with IKREON’s mission and values of inclusion and lifelong learning.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel abroad for project activities.

The selection procedure will be organised in two stages:
- Interview with the selected candidates.
- The successful candidates will then be invited to a trial day, during which they will be assigned work-related tasks to assess their work skills and proficiency.
